Making transition from school to university
Characteristic of successful student
- Attend all classes
attend all classes is the most important thing because if you missed although one class, you might lost the important things that the lecturer delivered from course text or most of the text question will come from lecture.
- Become am Active Learner
It 'is different from high school where you learnt or study by reading the material that given from your teacher, but at University situation change . You can't do revision only read the text book. You need to write and recite the information to get into long -term memory.
- Participate in Class
You encouraged to take part of the class and become more actively involved in the learning process so that it would help you get more confident and become brave person . For example, put your hand up to ask question that something you not clear about it or if you uncomfortable participating in class, set a goal either ask at least one question or challange yourself to be brave.
- Get to know your lectures
Try to talk and ask question about material or check on your progress in the course with your lecture by take a few minute . Indirectly you will feel more comfortable and closed relationships with your lecturers to communicate with them at anytime when you need it.
- Form study groups with friend
Study group of about 3 or 4 people are helpful to improve your study skills more better than study alone because you can change the note with your friend and your friend will help you to teach the subject you weak it. However, make sure that you with friend who are serious about doing well in study to avoid the study group not worth it because too much talk things that not relate with subject.
- Stay Up to Date with your work
Many new collage students have difficulty keeping up with all of the reading that's assigned in class. You may have time to catch up if you not pay attention with the important task or date. The workload in collage just increases as the semester progress . Never procrastinate!
- Be Receptive to change
Ask your lecture or tutor for suggestion for different ways to learnt if the technique that you used in high school are not working. You must give willing to give them chance even though the tips that they suggest may not seem like they'll work.
- Work hard this semester
If you're taking fifteen credits this semester, you'll need a minimum of thirty hours( two hours outside of class for every hour in class) to do your work. If you want high grade , you'll need more time to do work well if you work slowly . So, you must work hard every semester to achieve 4 flat in the final exam.
Learning style inventory
💜 Everyone have their own style to study and learning that are different from others. It is show that the way student absorbs, processes ,compered the information according 4 types of learning style which is visual, auditory, kinaesthetic , and read and write.

My learning style inventory
❤ my learning style inventory is visual. I like to look at the diagram or picture when i study alone because it easier for me to memorize something by imagine the picture and i don 't like to read the point in long sentence. Other than that, I also rewrite my own note with different colour pen and highlight . It attract me to read because it is colourful and interesting. When I do not understand with the sentence, i will try to draw picture to help to explain in new concept
